Some people think that the internet platforms may make museums and art galleries disappear in recent future. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Some people believe that the popularity of internet sites may cause traditional museums and art galleries to vanish in recent upcoming years. While the internet offers numerous advantages when it comes to obtaining valuable data, whether it could affect the survival of museums and art galleries is uncertain.
From one angle, proponents of the internet cite various reasons to support their argument. Firstly, the internet offers wide and instant accessibility, and anyone with a proper device can log on to museum websites or watch artistic works online. This is available for both local and international subscribers who can observe historical objects on web pages or enjoy works of art. Furthermore, the internet is favored for its affordability. In fact, online experience of watching art or gaining historical data is either free of charge or necessitates low costs. That is, internet users do not need to travel through long distance, thereby saving up costs of transportation, tickets and meals.
However, I do believe that museums and art galleries will continue co-existing with the internet platforms for a number of reasons. To commence, many visitors prefer real experience that comes from seeing a historical object or an artistic work in the presence of the object itself. By contrast, just watching online cannot provide the sense of fulfillment as much as visiting in-person. Moreover, most museums and art galleries feature the architectural style of the country they are situated, so visitors can not only go around the museum or art gallery but they can also admire the grandeur of the national architecture showcased.
In conclusion, despite the internet allowing for instant access and low costs, museums and art galleries could continue attracting a number of visitors who appreciate real experience and who want to experience different architectural styles around the world.
