The bar charts give information about the proportion of males and females (in different age groups) studying full-time and part-time in Australia in 2006.
Overall, the highest proportions of students were seen participating in part-time education among those aged 20-24 for both males and females. By contrast, full-time study was relatively more popular as people got older in both genders.
Turning to male students, 12% of younger men chose to study part-time while full-time was picked by only eight percent. Part-time study peaked among those aged 20–24, at around 40%, while the figure for full-time education in this group was much lower, at approximately 12%. Furthermore, the proportion of men studying part-time was 8% in two older age groups while full time was 6% at first, then it became 10% in the eldest age group.
A similar pattern can be observed among females, with the highest proportion also found in the 20–24 age group, where roughly 42% studied part-time compared to about 13% in full-time education. However, the youngest females studying for part time and full time were 17% and 7% respectively. Notably, Women between the age of 25-29 had the same figures of 8% and then in the final age group, part - time was 6% while full-time being 12%.
