Ayman Hussein: “The training pitch in Uzbekistan is much better than the stadium in Iraq”
Pakhtakor’s Iraqi striker Ayman Hussein said he was genuinely embarrassed by the condition of the pitch at Baghdad’s stadium after the team’s match against Air Force in the AFC Champions League Elite. He made the comments in an interview with WinWin.
Air Force won the match 1–0, with Saad Abdul-Amir scoring the only goal in the 69th minute.
“To be honest, I was genuinely embarrassed by the condition of the pitch at City International Stadium. During yesterday’s training session, the Pakhtakor players strongly criticised the pitch. They were disappointed that, despite the stadium looking new, the playing surface was in such poor condition,”

Car crashes into tree and driver died in Shakhrisabz
A 20-year-old driver died after a VAZ-2105 car crashed into a tree in Shahrisabz district, Kashkadarya Region. The regional Department of Internal Affairs’ Road Safety Department reported this.
According to the report, the accident occurred at around 11:30 pm yesterday, 26 October, on a local road passing through the Katta Novqat neighbourhood in the district. M.Kh., born in 2006, lost control of the VAZ-2105 he was driving and crashed into a tree at the roadside.

Woman who died in fire in Uchtepa was deliberately killed
The fire at the home of a woman who died in a residential fire in Tashkent’s Uchtepa district was found to have been deliberately set. Three separate fire origins were identified at the scene. Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office, told

According to the report, a fire broke out in a home in the district at around 2:00 am on 24 October this year. The body of a woman born in 2000 was found at the scene. Thermal injuries were also found on parts of her body from the shoulder to the thigh.

Causes of air pollution in Tashkent revealed
Unfavourable meteorological conditions and natural factors are contributing to air pollution in Uzbekistan, particularly in Tashkent. According to the report, only 3.9 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in Tashkent between 1 and 26 October this year, compared with the monthly average of 23.7 millimetres. This means rainfall was almost six times below the norm. Low rainfall reduces the amount of dust washed out of the air, allowing particles to accumulate in the atmosphere.

President visited set of film dedicated to Ibn Sina
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the set of “Husayn”, a historical feature film about the childhood of Abu Ali ibn Sina. The Presidential Press Service reported this.
According to the report, the film is being produced on commission from the Centre for the Development of Children’s Content. Sets recreating the historical period in which the great scholar lived have been built at the Uzbekfilm studio. The president inspected the city walls, street and market scenes, period costumes and props used in filming.

Suspects arrested for stealing 420 gas cylinders across Uzbekistan (video)
A total of 420 gas cylinders intended for households have been found to have been stolen in various parts of Uzbekistan, the State Security Service has reported.
According to the report, nationwide raids are being conducted jointly by the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Uzenergoinspeksiya and Hududgazta’minot JSC. The operations aim to prevent the theft of liquefied gas allocated to households that are not connected to the natural gas network.

Good news announced for Uzbeks travelling to Egypt
The introduction of new entry rules for Uzbek citizens travelling to Egypt has been postponed until 1 March 2027, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.
According to the ministry, direct negotiations between the Foreign Ministry, the Uzbek Embassy in Cairo and the Egyptian side resulted in an agreement to reconsider an earlier decision to tighten entry requirements for Uzbek citizens.
As a result, Uzbek citizens can continue travelling to Egypt under the current rules until the new regulations come into force.

Ancient Bronze Age settlement discovered in Samarkand
During archaeological surveys carried out in the part of the Nurota mountain range that falls in Samarkand region's Kushrabot district, rock paintings from the Mesolithic and Neolithic periods and a Bronze Age settlement were identified. The Yahyo Gulomov Samarkand Institute of Archaeology reported this.
In line with the institute's 2026 field research plan, archaeological survey work was carried out in the mountain and foothill areas of Kushrabot district in October. Rock paintings were found on the walls and ceilings of rock shelters in the Egrijarsoy, Khojasoy (Badimin), Galajinsoy, and Sumbulsoy areas belonging to the "Okchobsoy" mahalla citizens' assembly. According to the information, the paintings, drawn with natural ochre pigment, date to the Mesolithic (12th-7th millennia BC) and Neolithic (6th-3rd millennia BC) periods.
