If you are aiming for a band 9.0 in Grammatical Range and Accuracy in IELTS Writing Task 2, make sure your essays include the following:
1. A wide range of tenses
Present, past, and future forms should all appear naturally in your writing.
2. A variety of modal verbs
Use forms such as might, may, must, should, could, and would where appropriate.
3. Compound sentences
Link simple ideas using coordinating conjunctions such
as and, but, or, and so
to develop more sophisticated structures.
4. Complex sentences
Show control of advanced grammar, including:
Concessions
: although, even though, despite, while, whereas
Relative clauses:
which, who, where
Conditionals
: especially zero and second conditionals, used accurately and appropriately.
Of course, there are tons of other sentences you can use, but these are the ones that you can easily use even if your grammar is not advanced.
