SDG Course - Semester 1 Highlights
This semester, our students engaged with leaders from across sectors, from high-level public institutions and national reform bodies, to UN Agencies such as FAO, UNFPA and UNICEF, as well as private-sector partners including PwC and Juru Energy Group. We also welcomed our colleagues from the University of Westminster, enriching the dialogue with global perspectives.
Together, we explored real challenges, practical solutions, and the role of youth in driving change. Here’s a glimpse of how our first semester unfolded.

Constitution Day Quiz League

On 1 December 2025, the
Quiz League
dedicated to the upcoming
Constitution Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan
was held at WIUT. Fifteen teams of four students each took part in a lively contest that tested knowledge, teamwork and quick thinking. Prizes and certificates were presented to the top-performing teams.
Celebrating Constitution Day reminds us of the foundations of our state - the rule of law, citizens’ rights and civic responsibilities. Events like this help students deepen their understanding of the nation’s legal and constitutional framework and encourage informed, active participation in public life.

Masterclass Series Marathon - WIUT x Pavel Benkov Art School

On 24–25 November, WIUT welcomed the
The Republican Specialised Art School named after Pavel Benkov
for an inspiring three-day creative collaboration, a
masterclass marathon
designed to immerse students in practical artistic work and expose them to real industry techniques.
Across the series, participants explored three distinct areas of art:
Day 1 - Portrait Drawing Masterclass
, led by renowned instructor
Yunus Ali Murodov
, who shared techniques used in preparing students for major art institutions;
Day 2 - Basics of Ebru
, introducing traditional marbling methods and prop-making foundations through guided demonstrations; and
Day 3 - Fashion Design
: Sketching Live Models, where students engaged in live fashion illustration to develop observational skills and refine their creative voice.
The sessions enabled students to learn directly from practicing artists, experiment with new artistic disciplines, and gain valuable insights into professional art practices. The collaboration also helped strengthen WIUT’s growing creative community and build new links with arts education in Uzbekistan.

Honouring Labour Unions - Celebrating 120 Years of Service

Today, 25 November, Westminster International University in Tashkent hosted an event marking the
120th anniversary of the labour union movement
. The gathering celebrated the vital role labour unions play in protecting workers’ rights, promoting social justice.
The programme included cultural performances by artists from Uzbekistan’s theatres and opera houses, who created a warm, festive atmosphere with national and classical songs. In acknowledgement of their dedication, the university presented gifts to the most active members of the WIUT Labour Union.
We thank all our staff for their dedication and congratulate them on this important anniversary!

kasaba uyushmalari harakati tashkil etilganining 120 yilligiga
bag‘ishlangan tantanali tadbir bo‘lib o‘tdi. Unda kasaba uyushmalarining xodimlar huquqlarini himoya qilish va ijtimoiy adolatni ta’minlashdagi muhim o‘rni ta’kidlandi.
