4th Student Research Society Conference Successfully Held at Westminster International University in Tashkent
Westminster International University in Tashkent successfully hosted the 4th Student Research Society Conference on 27 April 2026 under the theme “
Youth Impact for a Sustainable World.
”
The conference brought together undergraduate and postgraduate students from universities across Uzbekistan, providing an important platform for young researchers to present their academic work, exchange ideas, and contribute to discussions on sustainability and innovation. This year, more than 60 research papers were presented across a broad range of disciplines, including business, economics, finance, management, marketing, public health, computing, international law, education, and languages.
The event was honoured by the presence of Gulnoza Ismailova, Executive Director of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation, who attended as the main guest. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr Athar Hameed Butt, who shared valuable insights with participants and guests.
The successful organisation of the conference reflects WIUT’s continued commitment to promoting student research, academic excellence, and youth engagement in addressing global sustainability challenges.

WIUT Hosts its Annual Job Fair
On 22–23 April 2026, Westminster International University in Tashkent hosted its traditional
Job Fair 2026
, bringing together
more than 3,000 students
and
graduates
and
over 150 employers
, including leading companies, banks, government institutions, agencies, international organisations and foundations.
Now in its 16th year, the event once again proved to be an effective platform for youth employment and professional growth. Students and graduates had the opportunity to meet employers directly, submit their CVs and take part in initial interviews.
As one of the first universities to build a systematic approach to career development from the early stages of study, WIUT continues to serve as a strong bridge between education and the labour market. According to the Career Centre survey,
97% of graduates secure employment within six months of graduation
.
The Job Fair at WIUT remains an important platform for youth career development and for advancing initiatives aimed at supporting the economic development of New Uzbekistan.

WIUT Hosts the National Round of the Economics Olympiad 2026
On 20 April 2026, WIUT hosted around 100 of the strongest school students from all regions of Uzbekistan for the National Round of the Economics Olympiad 2026, organised jointly with Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI).
Following a nationwide selection involving 361 schools and over 700 participants, the event brought together talented young people in a vibrant atmosphere of learning, ambition, and healthy competition. Participants engaged with WIUT faculty, connected with like-minded peers, and explored key topics including markets, entrepreneurship, and public policy.

A round-table discussion was held on the prevention of hooliganism and bodily harm among young people
Westminster International University in Tashkent hosted a preventative event attended by students on the topic of
‘Preventing crimes of hooliganism and bodily harm among young people.’
During the event, the causes and negative consequences of offences related to hooliganism, violence and bodily harm among young people were discussed.
The event highlighted the importance of improving legal literacy and fostering a sense of responsibility, humanity and respect for the law among young people in order to prevent such incidents. Detailed information was also provided on the penalties prescribed by law for offences such as hooliganism and causing bodily harm.
The discussion with the students focused particularly on the meaningful organisation of their free time, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, a measured approach to conflict situations, and the prevention of various negative influences. The event encouraged participants to play an active role in maintaining peace, mutual respect and a safe environment within society.
