The table illustrates the changes in the number of factories and total employees in England and Wales between 1851 and 1901, alongside male and female employee counts.
Overall, the number of factories increased dramatically over the period. By contrast, both male and female employee numbers showed decreases of varying degrees, with men exhibiting a more considerable change, which resulted in a huge decline in total workforce.
Focusing on the factories first, their number started at 225 in 1851 and consistently increased to a peak of 721 in 1881. After that, it decreased gradually by the final year, falling to 600.
The number of workers of both genders followed similar patterns, with males decreasing from 287,100 in 1851 to 31,000 in 1901 and females dropping from 190,000 to 30,000 by the final year, respectively. The male labour force was significantly greater throughout the period.

The line graph illustrates how the amount of fruit production changed in four countries - France, Spain, Germany, and Turkey - over a forty-year period from 1970 to 2010
Overall, fruit production in both Spain and Germany decreased, albeit to varying degrees, while the reverse was true for Turkey and France. Notably, although Spain showed a downward trend in most years, it remained the highest figure throughout the period
Focusing on downward trends first, production volume in Spain started at over 5.5 in 1970 before reaching a peak of about 6 over a decade. It then experienced a gradual decline, falling to just over 5 by 2010. As for Germany, starting at around 2.5 in the intial year, a gradual decline to approximately 1.5 was observed in the level of its fruit production. Then, after a period of stability, it slightly fell to roughly 1.2 in 2010, making it the least fruit produced country among the four.
Turkey and France, on the other hand, showed opposite trends. Turkey, whose production level started at 2 in 1970, consistently rose to roughly 3.5 in 2010. Meanwhile, Fruit output in France, which rose noticeably from more than 1 to around 2 in the initial 20 years, dropped to its lowest point of just under 2 in 2000 but then recovered to around 2.8 by the final year.

The line graph illustrates how the levels of air pollutants in the UK changed across three sources—industry, transport, and households—over a 15-year period from 1990 to 2005.
Overall, total emissions, as well as those from industry and households, declined, albeit to varying degrees, whereas transport emissions followed the opposite trend. Notably, total emissions remained the highest throughout the period despite a steady decrease. Although there were considerable differences among the sources at the beginning, these gaps narrowed significantly by the end of the period.
Focusing on the downward trends first, starting at around 5.8 million tonnes in 1990, industrial emissions decreased consistently, reaching a low of 2 million tonnes in 2005. The figure for households, however, remained stable at 1 million tonnes over a decade before dropping to 0 in the final year. Meanwhile, total emissions continued to be the highest figure, despite declining from around 8 million tonnes in 1990 to 5 million tonnes in 2005.
Transport emissions, on the other hand, fluctuated slightly between 1 million tonnes and 1.5 million tonnes in the early years. After a period of stability, they doubled, reaching 3 million tonnes by 2005
