KOICA and the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan (MoPSE) Discussed Issues of Cooperation
On August 21, Mr. Shin Myoung Seop, Country Director of KOICA Uzbekistan Office, met with Ms. Ezozkhon Karimova, Minister of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan.
The meeting addressed the current state of bilateral cooperation, priority areas, and prospects for future joint initiatives. Special attention was given to teacher training in preschool education and the introduction of modern pedagogical approaches.
For reference, KOICA is currently supporting the grant project “Establishment of a Center for Training, Teaching and Development of Preschool Education Staff and an Innovative Preschool Education Institution.” Within the framework of this project, new learning environments, methodological approaches, and didactic tools are being introduced. In addition, parental engagement meetings have been held in Tashkent and Nukus to introduce the play-based education program, which will be piloted from September to December.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation in the education sector, support new initiatives, and jointly implement future programs.

21 август куни Корея халқаро ҳамкорлик агентлиги (KOICA) Ўзбекистондаги ваколатхонаси директори жаноб Шин Мён Соп ва Ўзбекистон Республикаси Мактабгача ва мактаб таълими вазири Эъзозхон Каримова хоним учрашув ўтказди.
Учрашувда икки томонлама ҳамкорликнинг бугунги ҳолати, устувор йўналишлар ва истиқболдаги қўшма ташаббуслар муҳокама қилинди. Хусусан, мактабгача таълим тизимида кадрлар тайёрлаш ва замонавий педагогик ёндашувларни жорий этиш масалаларига эътибор қаратилди.
Маълумот учун, KOICA билан ҳамкорликда “Мактабгача таълим тизимида кадрлар тайёрлаш, ўқитиш ва ривожлантириш маркази ҳамда Инновацион мактабгача таълим ташкилотини ташкил этиш” грант лойиҳаси амалга оширилмоқда. Ушбу лойиҳа доирасида ўқув муҳити, методик ёндашувлар ва янги дидактик воситалар амалиётга жорий этилмоқда. Шунингдек, Тошкент ва Нукус шаҳарларида ота-оналар билан учрашувлар ўтказилиб, сентябрдан декабргача синов сифатида жорий этиладиган ўйинга йўналтирилган таълим дастури ҳақида батафсил ахборот берилди.
Учрашув якунларида томонлар таълим соҳасидаги ҳамкорликни янада кенгайтириш, янги ташаббусларни қўллаб-қувватлаш ва қўшма дастурларни амалга оширишга тайёрликларини билдирдилар.

KOICA and the Academy of Public Policy and Governance under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Discussed Issues of Cooperation
On August 20 of this year, Mr. Shin Myung Seop, Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Uzbekistan, and Dr. Jasur Salikhov, Rector of the Academy of Public Policy and Governance under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a grant project planned for implementation in 2026–2030 and considered ways to elevate cooperation between the Academy and KOICA to a new stage. They also reached an agreement on further enriching the “Young leaders” program, launched with KOICA’s practical support, by introducing new directions.
The parties achieved important agreements on strengthening partnership, implementing joint practical programs, and expanding processes of knowledge and experience sharing.

Жорий йил 20 август Корея халқаро ҳамкорлик агентлиги (KOICA)нинг Ўзбекистондаги ваколатхонаси директори Шин Мён Соп ва Ўзбекистон Республикаси Президенти ҳузуридаги Давлат сиёсати ва бошқаруви академияси ректори Жасур Салихов учрашув ўтказди.
Учрашув давомида 2026–2030 йилларда амалга оширилиши режалаштирилаётган грант лойиҳаси муҳокама қилиниб, Академия ва KOICA ўртасидаги ҳамкорликни янги босқичга олиб чиқиш масалалари кўриб чиқилди. Шунингдек, KOICAнинг амалий кўмагида йўлга қўйилган «Келажак лидерлари» дастурини янада бойитиш ва янги йўналишлар билан тўлдириш бўйича келишувга эришилди.
Томонлар ҳамкорлик алоқаларини мустаҳкамлаш, қўшма амалий дастурларни амалга ошириш ҳамда тажриба алмашиш жараёнларини кенгайтириш борасида муҳим келишувларга эришдилар.

International Seminar-Workshop on Forest Restoration and Ecotourism Development
On August 12–13, 2025, within the framework of the project “Greening of Forest and Urban Areas in Tashkent Region Based on Smart Technologies” (2024–2028), an international Seminar-Workshop was held.
The event was attended by KOICA Uzbekistan Office Director Shin Myoung Seop, the leadership of the Forestry Agency of Uzbekistan, as well as international experts.
The seminar addressed issues of sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and expanding opportunities for ecotourism. The importance of smart nurseries and greening in combating climate change was also emphasized.
During the opening session, KOICA Uzbekistan Office Director Shin Myoung Seop highlighted in his address:
“Protecting forests and creating new green opportunities is not only about safeguarding the environment, but also a vital investment for future generations. Through this project, we aim to support Uzbekistan in introducing modern technologies for afforestation, expanding green areas in both rural and urban regions, and fostering the development of eco-tourism that benefits local communities and the economy.”
This project has been recognized as an important step in the cooperation between KOICA and Uzbekistan on the path to sustainable development.

Ўрмонларни тиклаш ва экотуризмни ривожлантириш мавзусидаги халқаро семинар-тренинг
2025 йил 12–13 август кунлари “Тошкент вилоятида смарт технологиялар асосида ўрмон ва шаҳар ҳудудларини кўкаламзорлаштириш” лойиҳаси (2024–2028й.) доирасида халқаро Семинар-тренинг бўлиб ўтди.
Тадбирда KOICA нинг Ўзбекистондаги директори Шин Мёнг Соп, Ўрмон хўжалиги агентлиги раҳбарияти ҳамда халқаро экспертлар иштирок этдилар.
Семинарда барқарор ўрмон хўжалигини ривожлантириш, биохилма-хилликни муҳофаза қилиш ва экотуризм имкониятларини ошириш масалалари муҳокама қилинди. Шунингдек, иқлим ўзгаришига қарши курашишда смарт кўчатзорлар ва кўкаламзорлаштиришнинг аҳамияти таъкидланди.
Тадбирнинг биринчи кунида иштирок этган KOICA ваколатхонаси директори Шин Мёнг Сеоп ўзининг чиқиш сўзида:
“Ўрмонларни асраш ва янги яшил имкониятлар яратиш фақат атроф-муҳитни муҳофаза қилиш эмас, балки келажак авлодлар учун муҳим инвестиция ҳамдир. Ушбу лойиҳа орқали биз Ўзбекистонга ўрмон барпо этишда замонавий технологияларни жорий этиш, қишлоқ ва шаҳар ҳудудларида яшил майдонларни кенгайтириш, шунингдек, маҳаллий аҳоли ва иқтисодиётга наф келтирадиган экотуризмни ривожлантиришда кўмаклашишни мақсад қилганмиз.”дея таъкидлади.
Ушбу лойиҳа KOICA ва Ўзбекистон ҳамкорлигининг барқарор тараққиёт йўлидаги муҳим қадами сифатида баҳоланди.

"KOICA-TIU-Cheju Halla AI Training Center” ochilish marosimi
2025-yil 12-avgust kuni Toshkent Xalqaro Universitetida “KOICA-TIU-Cheju Halla AI Training Center” markazining ochilish marosimi bo‘lib o‘tdi.
Tadbirda Koreya Respublikasining O‘zbekistondagi Favqulodda va Muxtor Elchisi Won Doyeon, KOICA O‘zbekiston vakolatxonasi direktori Shin Myung Seop, O‘zbekiston Respublikasi Oliy ta’lim, fan va innovatsiyalar vazirining birinchi o‘rinbosari Otabek Makhkamov, Raqamli texnologiyalar vazirining birinchi o‘rinbosari Pekos Oleg hamda TIU vakillari ishtirok etdi.
Marosim TIU prezidenti Dr. Jun Yong Wookning tabrik so‘zi bilan boshlandi. Keyingi tabrik nutqida elchi Won Doyeon sun’iy intellektning tobora ortib borayotgan ahamiyati hamda Koreya hukumatining ushbu sohani rivojlantirish bo‘yicha doimiy harakatlarini ta’kidlab, quyidagi so‘zlarni aytdi: “Raqamli O‘zbekiston–2030 tashabbusi doirasida ushbu trening markazi amaliy ko‘nikmalarga ega sun’iy intellekt mutaxassislarini tayyorlab, O‘zbekistonning raqamli transformatsiyasiga hissa qo‘shishiga va Koreya hamda O‘zbekiston o‘rtasidagi hamkorlikni yanada mustahkamashtirishiga umid qilaman.”
Ushbu markaz KOICA dasturi doirasida tashkil etildi. KOICA va Cheju Halla universiteti hamkorligida ishlab chiqilgan bu sun’iy intellekt bo‘yicha o‘quv markazi yuqori samarali texnik jihozlar bilan ta’minlangan bo‘lib, AI-900 sertifikati kursi va turli amaliy ko‘nikmalarni rivojlantirish dasturlarini o‘z ichiga olgan o‘ziga xos AI o‘quv dasturiga ega. Mazkur markaz raqamli sanoat ehtiyojlariga mos yuqori malakali sun’iy intellekt mutaxassislarini tayyorlash va O‘zbekistonning raqamli sohasini rivojlantirishga munosib hissa qo‘shishi kutilmoqda.

Opening Ceremony of the “KOICA-TIU-Cheju Halla AI Training Center”
On August 12, 2025, the opening ceremony of the “KOICA-TIU-Cheju Halla AI Training Center” was held at Tashkent International University.
The event was attended by H.E. Won Doyeon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan, Mr. Shin Myung Seop, Director of the KOICA Uzbekistan Office, Dr. Makhkamov Otabek, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Pekos Oleg, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and officials from TIU.
The ceremony began with a welcome speech by Dr. Jun Yong Wook, President of TIU. Through following congratulatory remarks, Ambassador Won Doyeon highlighted the growing importance of AI and the Korean government’s continued efforts to foster the AI industry, stating, “In connection with Digital Uzbekistan-2030, I hope this training center will nurture practical AI professionals who will contribute to Uzbekistan’s digital transformation and further strengthen the Korea-Uzbekistan partnership.”
The center was established through KOICA’s Program. Jointly developed by KOICA and Cheju Halla University, the AI Training Center is equipped with high-performance training facilities and offers a self-developed AI curriculum, including an AI-900 certification course and various practical skill enhancement programs. It is expected that the newly established center will produce highly skilled AI professionals aligned with the needs of the digital industry and contribute to the development of Uzbekistan’s digital sector.

Opening Ceremony for the KOICA Global Doctor Field Project
On August 11, the Opening Ceremony for the Field Project titled “Establishment of KOICA Korean traditional medicine education center and development of medical equipment in The Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Traditional Medicine in Uzbekistan” and carried out by KOICA Global Doctor was held at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Traditional Medicine in Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by Deputy Director of the KOICA Uzbekistan Office Ms. Kim Siyeon, along with KOICA WFK Team, Director of the Center Dr. Mirrakhimov Jamshid, medical trainees, KOMSTA volunteers, and healthcare professionals.
The ceremony began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the official opening of the project site. This was followed by congratulatory remarks delivered by the Director of the Center and the Deputy Director of the KOICA Uzbekistan Office. Dr. Youngil Song, serving as KOICA Global Doctor, provided a comprehensive presentation outlining the project's objectives, implementation process, and key achievements. The event further featured testimonials from student beneficiaries, a video presentation contest showcasing their learning experiences, and a graduation ceremony for participants of the summer training program.
We hope this newly established center and improved medical environment will contribute to better training for future practitioners and improved healthcare services for the community. We extend our sincere gratitude to all partners and participants who helped to make this project successful.

KOICA Global doktori tomonidan amalga oshirilgan kichik ko’lamli loyihaning ochilish marosimi
11-avgust kuni Toshkent shahridagi Respublika ixtisoslashtirilgan ilmiy-amaliy tibbiyot markazida KOICA Global doktori tomonidan amalga oshirilgan “Respublika ixtisoslashtirilgan ilmiy-amaliy tibbiyot markazida KOICA Koreya An’anaviy Tibbiyot Ta’lim Markazini tashkil etish va tibbiy uskunalarni rivojlantirish” nomli kichik ko’lamli loyihaning ochilish marosimi bo’lib o’tdi.
Tadbirda KOICAning O‘zbekistondagi vakolatxonasi direktor o‘rinbosari Kim Siyeon xonim, KOICA WFK jamoasi, markaz direktori Mirraximov Jamshid, KOMSTA ko‘ngillilari hamda boshqa tibbiyot mutaxassislari ishtirok etdilar.
Tadbir markazning rasmiy ochilishini anglatish maqsadida ramziy lenta kesish marosimi bilan boshlandi. So‘ngra markaz direktori hamda KOICAning O‘zbekistondagi vakolatxonasi direktor o‘rinbosari tomonidan tabrik so‘zlari bildirildi. KOICA Global doktori Dr. Song Yongil loyiha maqsadlari, amalga oshirish jarayoni va erishilgan asosiy natijalar haqida batafsil taqdimot o‘tkazdi.
Shuningdek, tadbir davomida talabalarning loyihaga oid taassurotlari tinglandi, ularning o‘quv tajribasini aks ettiruvchi video taqdimotlar tanlovi o‘tkazildi va yozgi o‘quv dasturi ishtirokchilariga sertifikatlar topshirildi.
Yangi tashkil etilgan markaz va yaxshilangan tibbiy muhit kelajakdagi tibbiyot mutaxassislarini sifatli tayyorlashga hamda mahalliy aholiga ko‘rsatiladigan tibbiy xizmatlar sifatini oshirishga xizmat qiladi degan umiddamiz. Ushbu loyihaning muvaffaqiyatli amalga oshirilishiga hissa qo‘shgan barcha hamkorlarga va ishtirokchilarga chuqur minnatdorchiligimizni bildiramiz.
